Podcast recording
A calm table setup in Oud-West, every voice on its own track, plus an engineer who watches levels and pacing so you can focus on the conversation.

Listeners notice quickly whether an episode sounds like a laptop mic at the kitchen table or like someone actually paid attention to capture. Our podcast corner uses a round table with broadcast mics on boom arms, headphones at each seat, and treatment that keeps echo under control without making the room feel sterile.
We record one host with up to 3 in-room guests at a time — no live audience, no video crew. After the session you receive a rough edit: awkward silences trimmed, obvious flubs removed, separate tracks plus a stereo mix for quick review. Finer editing, music beds, and platform-specific loudness are separate steps; our guide on music rights for podcasts helps you choose licensed material early.
How it works
- 01
Brief
Send topic, target length, speaker count, and any scripted intro or outro. Within 2 business days we confirm date, price, and who will run the session.
- 02
Arrival
Fifteen minutes before start: headphones, levels, and a short soundcheck. Guests get tips on mic distance and avoiding talking over each other.
- 03
Record
The engineer sits in the control room and follows the conversation on screen. We pause for disturbances; you decide when a take needs a redo.
- 04
Rough edit
Within a few days after the session: WAV per speaker, a stereo work mix, and brief notes with timecodes for edits.
Table and microphones
The podcast area sits inside the live room at Ocularniva, Kinkerstraat 127 in Amsterdam. The table supports up to 3 guest mics plus the host; each feed goes straight to multitrack, not through a live stereo bus. That lets us adjust one speaker later without re-recording the whole conversation.
We use dynamic broadcast mics with pop filters on boom arms so hands stay free for notes or coffee. Headphones are semi-open enough to hear each other in the room, yet closed enough to limit bleed. The studio keeps 28 mics on inventory; for podcasts we reserve known sets we can rig quickly.
Who runs the session
Podcast and session producer Thijs Hofman leads most bookings. He watches levels, asks for retakes when a tram passes or a chair creaks mid-sentence, and marks usable takes. He does not finish your entire show — that is outside standard podcast recording — but he delivers sensibly named files that match what hosting platforms expect.
On busy days recording engineer Maarten de Vries may take the session with the same table layout. Either way someone stays in the control room; we do not leave hosts alone with only a tally light.
Who this service fits
Interview shows, founder podcasts, internal knowledge sharing later published externally, association roundtables, bilingual pilots with everyone in one room — that matches our capacity. Formats with a live audience, five panelists at once, or simultaneous video production are a poor fit; we have no fixed workflow for those.
Participants must be at least 16, or younger with written consent from a parent or guardian and an adult present. We do not ask for a portfolio, but we do ask for a short format description so we can judge whether the table setup works.
What to bring
Printed or digital: outline, question list, guest names for file naming. Bring your own headphones if you prefer; otherwise we supply clean units after each session. Water and mugs are ready; we avoid food at the table during recording because of noise.
If you plan intro music or jingles, read our knowledge base on rights first. We will not embed commercial tracks without clearance in the rough edit. Royalty-free or original music is fine when you can name the source.
- Outline or questions in ten-minute blocks
- Billing contact details (consumer or Ocularniva B.V.)
- Language plan if Dutch and English mix in one session
During and after recording
A standard session covers up to 75 minutes of recording time in one block; longer talks bill per extra hour at the rate on this page. Breaks do not count as recording time unless you deliberately keep rolling — we agree that upfront.
After the session we archive multitrack on secured storage for 9 months. Download within that window; afterward we delete per retention rules in our privacy policy. USB copies at the desk are available if you prefer that to a download link.
Delivery and file formats
Standard delivery includes:
- Per speaker: 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz from a common start point
- One stereo mixdown for quick upload to your host
- A text file with timecodes for rough-edit decisions
Other sample rates are possible when your platform requires them; mention it when booking. We do not provide automated transcription; arrange captions externally or ask for a quote to export to a service you choose.
Rough edit turnaround is usually within 10 calendar days after the session unless we agree otherwise on contact. Rush may be possible for extra work; call 020 737 2841 to check schedule space.

FAQ
Can we dial in a remote guest on Zoom?
Standard podcast recording captures people at the table only. Remote guests can record at home and be mixed later; that falls under remote mixing, not this session price.
How many episodes fit one session?
Plan for one long conversation or two short segments within 75 minutes of recording. More content means extra hours at €78 per hour.
May we use our own intro music?
Yes, if you hold the rights. Read music rights for podcasts for licensing and what we may embed in the rough edit.
Where do we park?
Trams 13 and 16 run along the Kinkerstraat; get off at Bilderdijkstraat and walk about five minutes to number 127. From Amsterdam Centraal it is roughly 25 minutes on tram 13 towards Geuzenveld. You can park bikes in front of the building; on-street car parking in Oud-West is paid. On-street parking nearby is paid; locking bikes in front of the building is common.
How do we book a date?
Use contact or 020 737 2841. We confirm in writing and send payment instructions for the 25% deposit.
